Workout tips for a busy lifestyle

Most of us struggle to find the time to get in a decent, regular workout. Whether it is work or family or your relationship, there is always something that needs our attention. Even when you plan meticulously for that early morning spin class or an evening gym session, you never know what might come up, and for many of us, that workout is the first thing to be scrapped.

Work out at home

There are plenty of ways you can work out without having to leave your house. You can get basically any kind of gym equipment online to be delivered to your house from sets of dumbbells to these BLK BOX gym rigs to either kit out a full-on home gym or just a few pieces to store in the closet when you are not using them. By investing in home gym equipment or committing yourself to working out at home you can save time on the commute. This also means you can exercise for any amount of time you like. You probably would not bother going to the gym just to do a 15-minute workout which means unless you have an hour or two free then you probably will not work out at all. At home, you can do 10 minutes here and there whenever you can.

Make your commute a workout

If possible, run or bike to work. Consider how much of a workout this will be, how much you sweat and whether you can shower when you get to work. You might be alright to simply change your clothes after a gentle bike ride into the office but if you want an intense running session then it is advisable you shower before you start work. If your office does not have any shower facilities, not many do, then look into gyms nearby where you can stop and shower before work. Joining a gym near the office can also help save time as you can stop in for a quick workout before or after work. Even just walking to work can be great exercise for someone with a busy schedule.

Keep your workout clothes handy at all times

Keep a gym bag with your workout clothes in the trunk of your car so you can fit in some exercise whenever you get the chance. If you find yourself with some unexpected free time, then you can easily get your workout clothes on and go for a run or hit the gym. Always keep your gym clothes ready to pick up and go at the last minute.

Join the most convenient gym possible

Do not join a gym that is miles away from home or somewhere that requires you to drive through traffic. Not only will this take longer but it will be harder to motivate yourself to go. Join a gym close to your home, your office or your kids’ school so you can always work out no matter the weather or time of day. It might end up being a little bit more expensive but it is worth it if you want to work out more.
