It’s finally here. The end of this challenging and game-changer year. Whether it was staying at home, learning from home, canceling travel, or other, 2020 made us all look at our lives differently. Perhaps we looked at our communities, workplace, and even the world through another lens. That’s why this New Year is so important. And, to kick it off right, let’s make our New Year’s resolutions stick. If you haven’t come up with yours yet or would like some help, let these twist your arm into leveling up in 2021.
Take Your Closet Up a Notch in Style
2020 has taken its toll on everyone’s style. We have shown up to work calls and even virtual happy hours in sweats and/or old t-shirts. It’s time to get out of the 2020 funk and make resolutions to revamp your wardrobe. To easily take your closet up a notch in style, buy quality, timeless pieces. You can find excellent brands that are making stylish apparel even comfortable with adaptive clothing.
Clean Up Your Personal Style
Many of us have gotten lazy staying at home for the last year. It is not only our wardrobes that have suffered, but also our hair. Consider getting a new, cleaner haircut for 2021. Also, it is well past the time to shave off that pandemic beard. There are many simple things that any man can do to look better in 2021.
Healthier Diet without Sacrificing Flavor
2020 has demonstrated that our health is our wealth. So, in 2021, let’s piggyback on that lesson by choosing healthier options for our kitchens. Now, this doesn’t mean that you have to sacrifice flavor. By selecting locally grown, organic fruits and vegetables is a good start. Also, by opting for a diet with healthy fats like olives, nuts, and avocados, you can sneak in flavor without adding to your waistline. Try these fabulous hearty recipes with healthy fats.
Set Up a Regular Exercise Routine
Let this year be the year that we all accomplish our fitness goals. What used to be a mad dash to the gym in the first week of January has changed. We have all been working out at home or utilizing our local parks. However, if we do the same thing over and over again and expect the same result, we are insane (credit to Albert Einstein for that wisdom). Set up a well-rounded routine to get new types of cardio, strength training, and flexibility into your life. Now, you don’t need expensive gear or a gym membership to hit your resolutions. Change up your current routine by adding different exercises. Evolve the routine in time. See the results by Spring.
Take a Trip
After being cooped up for the majority of 2020, it is time to broaden your horizons. Take a trip whether near or far to a place you have never been before. Getting out of your comfortable home, neighborhood, and town allows you to experience a place like a kid again. You see, smell, hear, taste, and live as if everything is a bit new, different. Travel is the best education money can buy. Plus, it’s a great way to check-in with yourself.
New Year’s resolutions have never been more important. They symbolize a new chapter in our lives. Certainly, all of us can sympathize with wanting to say goodbye to 2020. It just plain stink, stank, stunk. To kick off a great year and new chapter, pledge to make at least one New Year’s resolution for yourself. Whether you choose your closet, style, menu, exercise routine, or trip someplace new, let’s do 2021 right. Cheers all!
