Things to Do in Baltimore

If you’re headed for Baltimore for your first ever visit, then welcome to the city because you’re about to have a great time. Baltimore is a city that is packed with history and world class attractions are on the doorstep for wherever you’re staying. No matter where you stay in Baltimore, you’re going to have a fantastic time because you can live like a local while you’re there. It’s known as Charm City for a good reason, but you’re not going to know that until you experience it yourself.

There are plenty of Baltimore apartments for rent, so you’ll have somewhere comfortable to stay. But there are also things that you should be doing in Baltimore while you visit. With that in mind, take a look at the list below and get stuck into planning your itinerary. You won’t regret your decision.

  1. Visit like a local. If you’re planning on staying in apartments, you might want to go to the local farmers markets to get some fresh ingredients to cook for yourself. However, that’s not going to stop you from eating at some of the most delicious places that you can find. For example, Miss Shirley’s is a family friendly favorite in Baltimore, and you absolutely must try the French toast of the month. If there’s one thing people know how to do in Baltimore, it’s brunch, so make sure that you find some good breakfast spots around the city. Don’t forget to go for some blue crab while you’re here too. Maryland crabs come in many forms, and however you enjoy crab, you’ll find a way in Baltimore.
  2. Head to a brewery. Did you know that Baltimore was once known as a wet city because it didn’t adhere to the prohibition rules? There is no shortage of pubs and bars here, so go to the Guinness Open Gate Brewery and find your favorite tipple. There are plenty of distilleries and breweries to tour and visit while you’re here, too.
  3. Head to Baltimore Bay. The Promenade in Baltimore is 7 miles long, and it’s the crown jewel of the city. You’ll find gorgeous water views, amazing places to eat, and plenty of attractions. The National Aquarium is right here, and at the Living Seashore exhibit, you can get close and personal with underwater creatures. If you want to continue your tour, go to the historic row houses in Federal Hill and head to the American Visionary Art Museum. This should absolutely be on your itinerary list.
  4. Take in the museums. It doesn’t matter what you’re looking to learn, Baltimore has something for you. If you want to learn about the War of 1812, or you want to learn the origins of the Star Spangled Banner, or you want to dig for dinosaurs at the Maryland Science Centre, there is plenty that you can do here and so much culture for you to soak up.

There is always something new to do in Baltimore, so start researching now ready for your trip ahead.
