Getting Your House Ready for Spring

Spring is definitely on the way! The sun has remembered its role in the sky and the flowers are beginning to bloom, which means that longer days, warmer weather and the potential to really upgrade your space is on the way. You don’t have to (thankfully) invest in a ton of new decor or accessories to embrace the spring months on the way, but you can still get ready for the season if you want to!

There are tons of tiny tweaks that you can make to your house to really embrace the spring weather, and you don’t have to wait for mid-March to start, either. You can get started with a simple seasonal pool cleaning service to clear out the winter debris and refresh your pool. You then can move onto tidying up the exterior of the house before you move into the interior. There are so many options out there for getting your house ready for spring, and here are some suggestions for when you’re done with the outdoor clear up.

Spring
  1. Bring in some pastels. Are your cushions and blankets the right colours? Head to the local homeware stores and choose some pastel options to upgrade the mood! The moody tones of winter – sage greens, greys and purples – need to be packed away and you need to bring out the brighter fabrics. You can swap everything from throws and blankets to pillows and coffee table books into pastel tones!
  2. Go natural. If there is one thing about spring, it’s that it brings new life. Baby chicks are born and lambs are on the way, but those tiny new crocuses and daffodils are also on the way, too. Designers will always tell you that the simplest of transitions comes in the form of fresh flowers and if you want to really embrace that pastel theme, go with new flowers. Every room, every surface can have vases of flowers on them in the most beautiful spring colours.
  3. Call the cleaners. Of course, you can do this yourself, but you can get a much better job of a spring clean done when you call the experts. Cleaners can deep clean the space and you can use cleaning products with fresh and natural scents, too. While you’re at it, declutter everything out from the winter months and do some tip runs to get rid of a build up of rubbish. A room by room spring clean makes all the difference to the house!
  4. Lean into the floral patterns. Small touches, such as textiles and throw pillows, can look so much more ‘for the season’ if you lean into those florals we talked about. Floral art really can make a statement, and your home will benefit from it in the new season.
  5. Box up the curtains. Take down the heavy curtains and put the gauzy, light ones back up! Your home needs light for the spring months to brighten the space, and heavy curtains can be put away ready for the sunshine to stream in.
