What Are Adventure Parks? Everything You Need to Know

Adventure parks and amusement parks are two different kinds of fun. One boasts ziplines and treetop obstacles, while the other includes rides and water slides. There is plenty of fun to be had at both! But the question is… what are adventure parks? What makes them so different from theme parks?

A Unique Adventure

Well, treetop adventure parks are what people say they are: the ultimate adventure! They’re different from your average rope course, with a variation of trails up in the trees and plenty of adrenaline-filled activities. It’s a different kind of adrenaline to the thrill of riding a roller coaster – you’re up there in the open, relying on your footing to hold your balance.

Climbers jump from one treetop platform to the next, crossing bridges made of cable, wood, and rope. They feel the thrill of conquering the ultimate zipline experience as they return to land. Even those afraid of the highest heights would have a day to remember at an adventure park!

Who Can Take Part?

You don’t have to be an athlete to tackle a treetop adventure. Anyone can join in the fun, ranging from kids to fully-grown adults! And if it makes you feel any better, there are different color-coded trails for anyone wanting to stay low and keep it simple. If you’re feeling brave, climb up to the highest point and crown yourself the king of the jungle!

If you’re feeling under the weather or the thought of climbing almost as high up as the trees makes your stomach churn, it’s okay to sit this one out. Take it easy. It’s not a race.

Safety Equipment and Rules

Before you get climbing, you’ll get a complete safety talk and run-through of what to do and what not to do while you’re up in the trees. Then, you’ll hop into a climbing harness and get hooked up to the safety line, so if you fall, you won’t go far!

The number one rule for adventure parks is to have fun! Don’t take it too seriously, just enjoy being up in the trees and exploring new sights. The trails are designed for your self-discovery, so you won’t get any lessons on how to climb and where to go – you’re free to explore as you like, at your own pace. But, there will always be fully trained park assistants at hand to help if you need them.

What’s At Adventure Parks?

Surprisingly, ziplines and treetop obstacles aren’t the only things at adventure parks. There’s more to adventures than that! An adventure park boasts a variety of elements, including rope climbing activities, obstacle courses, bouldering, shooting targets with bow and arrows, rock climbing, and all sorts of other adrenaline-filled things.

But they aren’t all about staying on your toes until you’re tired and worn out. There are plenty of rest stops along the way, including diners and cafes, gift shops, restrooms, and places to sit down and catch five minutes. All that climbing and jumping around can be tiring, so be sure to take plenty of breaks and stay hydrated. Top up your energy with some light refreshments, and remember to take lots of photos!
