Dubai is a city in the United Arab Emirates and is the capital of the Emirate of Dubai. It is largely considered the most expensive city in the Middle East and one of the more expensive cities in the entire world. The weather is Dubai is extremely warm throughout the year and it can get quite humid during the summer months.

Dubai relies on tourists and the city attracts people with their ancient attractions and shopping. The city has over seventy different shopping centers including Dubai Mall, which is the largest mall in the world. The mall is in the downtown area and has 1,200 shops where more than 54 million people visit every year. Inside the mall is where people can find the Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo. Everyone can walk through a 270-degree tunnel while looking at more than 300 animal species. In the Underwater Zoo portion, guests can interact with different animals.

The Dubai Museum is in the Al Fahidi Fort which was built in 1787 and is considered the oldest building in Dubai. At the main gate of the fort, people will see cannons before entering one of the internal halls. A few of the halls contain collections of old weapons, musical instruments and a model of the city from 1820 AD. Inside the courtyard, everyone will see a bronze cannon, cannonballs, a well and numerous boats. A traditional summer house, called Arish, is located inside the courtyard and is made from woven palm fronds.

One of the most unique buildings in Dubai is the Burj Khalifa. The Burj Khalifa is a 2,717-foot high skyscraper that was inspired by the desert flower Hymenocallis. It is considered the tallest man made building in the world and it took more than thirty different contracting companies from around the world to complete it.

The Dubai Miracle Garden opened on February 14, 2013. There are 45 million flowers in the gardens, which is open from October to the middle of May. The rest of the year the gardens are closed because of the extreme heat and humidity.

The Dubai Fountain is in the Burj Khalifa Lake which is a man-made lake. The fountain is a choreographed fountain show that uses 6,600 lights and 25 colored projectors. The fountain is 902 feet long and is capable of shooting water up 500 feet in the air while music is playing in the background.
