Popular UK Motorhome Destinations

There are some fantastic routes for campers in the UK, you don’t need to go abroad to enjoy a much-needed holiday. The best way to explore as much of the countryside and beaches of our beautiful country is by renting a motorhome – this way you can explore at your own pace and visit all the sites that you want to visit.

Leave behind the large cities and explore the UK from the comfort of your own home on wheels! They’re a cheaper option too, allowing you to save the money you would have spent on a hotel and restaurants during your holiday. If you are planning on going on a motorhome holiday this summer, make sure you take out motorhome insurance prior to your trip. This ensures you are covered in case of an emergency.  Here are some of the best routes that you could look to take this summer.

Cornwall

Cornwall, which is located in the South West of England, is a stunning region, famous for its cuisine and it is always a family favourite in the summer months.  Along with its numerous seaside villages and picturesque countryside views, it is renowned for having some of the best beaches in the UK.

Due to the abundance of attractions in Cornwall, it is the ideal route for a motorhome holiday. However, depending on the specific sites you intend to visit, you might not be able to fit a larger motorhome because some of the lanes and roads in the more rural areas can be fairly narrow. Make sure you research this ahead of time and plan your route or opt for a smaller motorhome.

Cotswolds

The Cotswolds is where you can find the idyllic English countryside of your dreams, complete with rolling hills, beautiful fields of cattle, and picturesque woods to walk around. There is so much to see and do in this area, from majestic abbeys and mediaeval castles, to crocodile zoos and husky sledding if you fancy it! You won’t run out of activities to keep the kids occupied during the summer holidays – and it is the perfect destination for a weekend break year-round.

Great Yarmouth, Norfolk

Great Yarmouth is full of exciting activities to do for all the family, with the most popular and highly rated attraction being The Pleasure Beach. Located at the top of the Golden Mile and spans a sizable nine-acres of rides and activities to enjoy. This theme park is the ideal spot to take the kids for a day out since it is loud, vibrant, and full of fun activities that they can get involved in.

With a combination of 28 heart-pounding rides, classic attractions like a 1932 wooden roller coaster, gardens, amusement arcades, and food outlets there is something here that the whole family will enjoy.

There’s plenty on offer right at your doorstep, from the beaches at Scarborough to the mountains in Snowdonia. Plan ahead and create a checklist filled with all the essentials you need for your next adventure. So, where do you plan on going next for your motorhome getaway?
