The Best Little Shop Trash Can

There it sat, battered and beaten, held together with duct tape which itself was on its last leg of life, holding the sides together just enough to maintain its shape. The base scraped the rusted, the main function of this little item had long since passed, but there it held on in hopes of being used another day, for another project, for another season.

Alas, though, it was not meant to be.

Of course, I am talking about my shop trash can, the plastic barrel that once shined in the sun filled with everything from leaves to sawdust and scrap wood. But now it sat there, barely able to hold itself together nonetheless anything inside it, ready to be retired and recycled.

Now, I could just go and replace this trash can, which lasted about 2 years, with another just like it, or I could bite the bullet and finally upgrade to a smarter choice. One with wheels, and maybe even a lid that doesn’t blow away at the slightest gust. Oh and something to keep the trash bags from falling every time I put something inside. One can wish, right?

Well, it’s no longer a wish. Picked up from my trusty, local Home Depot, I found the perfect replacement, hitting every check in the box for the ‘upgrade’ while also not breaking the bank. Picking up the new 32 gallon Newell Rubbermaid® Roughneck™ Wheeled Refuse Trash, I was able to get right back to work in the shop as well as the yard.

You see, this is not only key to helping me keep the shop clean, but I needed something for the yard when those pretty colored leaves finally fell or the general fall/winter prep in the garden, and with 32 gallons of bag cinching, wheeled goodness to pack all the refuse away, it turned into the perfect multitool.

It’s first stop though was the shop, collecting the scrap particle board and sawdust from my Halloween decoration projects, letting me get the shop area cleaned up quickly and the scrap on its way to the curb. And the best part is the truck can grab the Newell Rubbermaid® Roughneck™ Wheeled Refuse Trash like it does the recycle bin (yes, with the old plastic can inside it) and be on its way quickly.

So while fall might be the time for cleanup and garage projects, there is no reason to be relying on something held together with hopes and duct tape to get the job done. And all without breaking the bank, the Newell Rubbermaid® Roughneck™ Wheeled Refuse Trash came through to become the easiest part of the little fall seasonal tasks.

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Newell Rubbermaid®. The opinions and text are all mine.
