As if 2016 wasn’t going to be filled with epic movies already with Batman/Superman, Deadpool, and The Revenant, Paramount Pictures dropped a sneak attack of a trailer into theaters this week as the sequel to the JJ Abrams hit Cloverfield. Not only did the unveiling catch everyone by surprise, but did so in true teaser fashion giving such a minimum of facts to the story that it lead people guessing if it truly was a sequel or just playing up the name of the much beloved monster movie from 2008. We’ll have to see just how closely tied these two movies are, and whether JJ is cooking up a trilogy. Surprise indeed.
