The Perfect Triple Crown Drink: Sour Seer Sucker Mojito

The Triple Crown quickly approaches with the standard big hats, seer suckers and juleps, as well as the celebrations surrounding the more social than race focused day on May 2nd.  So, whether you’re throwing your own viewing celebration or attending the highly anticipated day at the races, we think it might be time to take your drink choice to the next level. Working with our friends over at BACARDI Rum, we think we found the perfect mixture in the  Sour Seer Sucker Mojito, a drink that hits the refreshing note often enjoyed in a julep, while bringing in a sour note to round the full drink off. What’s even better is this drink can get it’s own self serve station so guests can make it as sour or minty as they would like as they enjoy the races. So tip your hat, rock your seersucker and cheers with this race inspired rum cocktail recipe below.

Ingredients:

  • 2 parts BACARDÍ Superior Rum
  • 4 lime wedges
  • 12 fresh mint leaves
  • 2 heaped tsp of caster sugar
  • 1 part soda water/club soda
  • Sprig of fresh mint to garnish

Directions:

Gently press together the limes & sugar. Bruise the mint leaves by clapping them between your palms, rub them on the rim of the glass and drop them in. Next, half fill the glass with crushed ice, add the BACARDÍ Superior rum & stir. Top up with crushed ice, a splash of soda and a sprig of mint.
