Sao Paulo is a city that is in the southeastern part of Brazil, and is considered the city with the largest population in Brazil. Sao Paulo was discovered on January 25, 1554 by Manuel da Nóbrega and José de Anchieta, plus ten other priests from a Jesuit college.

The Ipiranga Museum is a monument that opened in 1985 to honor the memory of the Independence of Brazil. It used to be a science museum, but became a history museum in 1919. There are approximately 100,00 pieces that include works of art, furniture, clothing and appliances from Brazilian history. The Ema Gordon Klabin Cultural Foundation is housed in a mansion from the 1920s. The collection of paintings includes works of art by Marc Chagall, Pompeo Batoni and Pierre Gobert.
To the south of Sao Paulo is the Sao Paulo Zoo. The zoo covers 203 acres of land with more than 3,200 animals. The zoo was created in June of 1957 and it finally opened in March of 1968. People who visit the zoo can also go on a safari tour at the Zoological Park of Sao Paulo, which is right next to the zoo.
